Friends of Cancer Patients Society (FOCP) is a charitable, volunteer-based foundation operating under the umbrella of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah. FOCP was established in late 1999 in accordance with the directives and under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed AI Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah & Federal Supreme Council Member His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi.
The society's objectives are to provide moral, financial, emotional and medical support for cancer patients while aiming to create a wide spread awareness about cancer, early detection and prevention within UAE community. FOCP is committed to all residents of the UAE without discrimination or prejudice against race, religion or cultural background. The charity is here, first and foremost to provide guidance in the form of practical, financial, moral, educational and medical support for cancer patients and their loved ones who have been affected by cancer.
FOCP has been able to support over 500 patients across the UAE over the past decade and became the official charity partner of the Oil Barons Charity Ball in 2008, which raise the total to over AED 400,000.00.
In the last three years the Oil Barons Charity Ball supported the Friends of Cancer Patients Society and has raised 1,247,385.00 AED to date.

Over the past years the Oil Baron Charity Ball has become the single largest contributor raising almost 80% of their funds.
